Details

The Canadian Cannabis Research Summit is a national gathering of scientists, trainees, and healthcare practitioners dedicated to advancing cannabis and cannabinoid research. New this year, the Summit will feature 3 main events:

  • May 27, 8:30-4:30 pm – 2nd Annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research workshop (Chestnut Conference Centre)

    (Register on this page)

Following last year’s resounding success of the first EDI in Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research workshop hosted by the Toronto Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research Consortium, we are incorporating this important event at 2026 summit! The program highlights how diverse perspectives strengthen research and promote more inclusive practices. Speakers and panelists will share their expertise and experiences, while discussions will include systemic barriers in academia and offer practical strategies to improve diversity, accessibility, and inclusion. This workshop is free to attend for TC3 members, however, space is limited, so advance registration is required to attend.

  • May 27, 6-8 pm – Cannabis Chats: Your Questions, Expert Answers, Community Dialogue (SickKids Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning)

    (More information/Register)

Connect with cannabis and cannabinoid researchers to better understand what the science tells us about cannabis. This event is free to attend with registration (space is limited). Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.  Panelists include Dr. Matthew Hill (University of Calgary), Dr. Kim Hellemans (Carleton University), and Dr. Hance Clarke (University of Toronto). The session will be co-moderated by Dr. Lauren Kelly (University of Manitoba) and Dr. Robert Laprairie (University of Saskatchewan)

  • May 28-29 – Conference (Chestnut Conference Centre)

    (Register on this page)

This portion of the summit will bring together researchers, educators, healthcare practitioners, government and trainees for two days of presentations, engaging poster sessions, and meaningful networking opportunities. The conference will showcase some of the latest advances in the field while creating space for collaboration and knowledge exchange. We  welcome Dr. Ziva Cooper (UCLA) and Dr. Yasmin Hurd (Mount Sinai) as keynote speakers.
